How to maintain your joinery?
General precautions
• Once every quarter, use the sponge mitt and the natural cleaning product from your kit (water-based). Just 1 to 3 sprays per window are enough !
• To protect the locking mechanisms, annual maintenance is highly recommended. Apply a small amount of eco-lubricant to the hardware using a brush, cloth, or brush.
• Never clean your door or window using a high-pressure washer..

• For optimal sealing, use a small brush to clear the water drainage holes on the sashes and frames (leaves, insects, and paint can get stuck there).

MAINTENANCE OF JOINERY BY MATERIAL AND ACCESSORIES
Maintenance using the sponge mitt and the natural cleaning product included in your kit (to be diluted with water); 1 to 3 sprays per window are enough!

The frequency and type of maintenance depend on the finish level of the delivered joinery :
► Shade equalizer and white pre-paint :
Two finishing coats must be applied within one month after the delivery of the joinery.
► Lacquer or stain finish :
The first maintenance must be carried out, depending on the climatic conditions and the exposure of your joinery (altitude, seaside, projection from the facade, etc.), within the following timeframe (after the delivery of the joinery):
- 2 years for lacquer
- 1 year for stain
For the maintenance of your stained or lacquered joinery, we recommend:
Microporous paint of the stain anti-UV type or lacquer, compatible with wood surfaces.
Or
Maintenance kits like AKZO/SIKKENS, more economical and faster than applying a new coat of paint.
- Protect the locking mechanisms (lock, strike plate, bolts) and the sealing joints.
- Lightly sand the surfaces along the wood grain with a very fine grit (150 or higher), then dust off in an outdoor area and on the interior side.
- Use oil-based saturators as they are not compatible with our shade equalizers and stains.
- Use black lacquer on joinery that is heavily exposed to the sun (risk of cracking, blistering).
Stainless steel accessories (handles, pull bars) require regular maintenance to retain their original appearance.
- For regular cleaning (once or twice a year): use a clean cloth or sponge (non-abrasive side) soaked in soapy water or window cleaner.
- For deep cleaning (in aggressive environments such as coastal areas): use a commercially available stainless steel cleaner with diluted phosphoric acid.
- Abrasive products (such as scouring powders)
- Chlorine-based products (such as bleach)
