A recycling like no other
In 2010, Fabrice Millet, an industrialist, Damien Hamon, a cabinetmaker, and Olivier Papet, a designer, founded the company RU Edition.
The Millet Group has been a major player in wood, PVC, aluminum, and steel joinery for over 70 years. It is recognized for combining artisanal expertise with innovation and has received several awards for its commitment to sustainable development (finalist in the 2006 Business and Environment Award; Workplace Quality of Life Award in 2007; "Act for Our Future" label in 2008; Bronze Batimat Trophy for Innovation in 2009; Gold Medal at the Equip’baie Performance Competition in 2010; Winner of the Batimat Innovation Award in 2019).
RU Edition follows this same approach by using design to serve ecology. For too long, millions of used windows have been forgotten in landfills or recycled at only 10% into particle boards. With their diverse expertise, these three men offer a new alternative: transforming abandoned windows into refined furniture. Millet has also implemented an efficient collection service to enable the eco-return of these windows.

A NEW LIFE FOR USED MATERIALS
For several years, we have implemented an eco-return process for used windows, replacing the traditional landfill solution. With our trucks, we collect old joinery from our clients, and in our factories, materials such as wood, glass, PVC, aluminum, and steel are dismantled, sorted, and sent to existing recycling channels. Among these materials, window profiles have a unique destiny.

In RU Edition’s signature pieces, the unlikely destinies of old windows from all walks of life intersect—country homes, social housing, luxury apartments, cottages, and other buildings. Regardless of their origins, these windows are now dismantled, cut, and sorted, transforming into raw material ready to be reinvented.
Imprinted with whispered histories in every fragment, these pieces of furniture possess a soul, bathed in the light of memories from the past. Dreamlike creations and the vision of ecological design—this new furniture collection embodies both.
Delicate consoles crafted from transoms, frames, and mullions, drawer towers built from the textures of past lives, or modular cubes to be arranged in either discord or harmony—each design tells a story of its own.
