Tax credit on windows
How does it work for windows ?
Reintroduction of the tax credit for the replacement of aluminum, PVC, and wooden windows from January 1, 2019, to December 31, 2019.
Decree published on March 1, 2019: The government has reintroduced window replacement works into the scope of the energy transition tax credit for 2019.
Please note, the tax credit rate remains unchanged at 15% compared to 2018, but in 2019 it is capped at €100 per window replaced.
Please note that all joinery products from Groupe Millet are eligible for the tax credit for renovation projects (provided the work is carried out by a certified RGE company).
THE WINDOW TAX CREDIT FOR 2019: What You Need to Know
- Exclusion of doors and insulating shutters from the tax credit (same as in 2018)
- 15% tax credit for windows only if replacing single-glazed windows (this must be stated on the invoice), from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019.
- Amount capped at €100 per window replaced, which represents 15% of the value with a ceiling of €670 per unit.
- 5.5% VAT:Applicable throughout 2019 for windows, entrance doors, and insulating shutters.

Conditions to Benefit from the 15% Tax Credit on Windows in 2019

You must be fiscally domiciled in France (homeowners, tenants, or free occupants) and have a primary residence completed for more than 2 years, whether it's a house or an apartment.

This aid is not subject to income conditions. Regardless of income, anyone can benefit from the CITE (Tax Credit for Energy Transition).

A PVC, aluminum, or wood window without quality certification is not eligible for the CITE.

You must hire an RGE-certified professional for the supply and installation of these joineries.

The joineries must meet specific performance criteria: for windows, French doors, and sliding patio doors: Uw ≤ 1.7 W/(m²·K) and Sw ≥ 0.36, or Uw ≤ 1.3 W/(m²·K) and Sw ≥ 0.30.
The Amount of Aid
The aid is calculated on the equipment (excluding labor costs). The amount eligible for the tax credit is 15% of the equipment costs on the invoice, capped at €100 per window replaced.
It is also possible to combine the tax credit with other aids such as 5.5% VAT, the zero-interest eco-loan, CEE (Energy Savings Certificates), ANAH (National Housing Agency) aids, local authority aids, etc., but under certain conditions.How is the Amount Calculated?
To obtain the (capped) amount eligible for the 15% tax credit, labor costs and any received aids or subsidies must be deducted from the invoice.Are you a joinery craftsman and wish to become RGE-certified?
